Help us help men and their families. Did you benefit from a support service or resource from the Island Prostate Centre and want to be part of paying that forward? Has a loved one been touched by prostate cancer and you want to help ease the journey for others? Please consider making a donation today.
Unlike many cancer foundations and agencies, Island Prostate Centre does not receive core funding from government or health authority. We rely on the generous support of individuals, businesses and foundations to help us deliver men’s health services on Vancouver Island.
Your contribution will enable us to provide exceptional information about prostate health and prostate cancer, conduct local research and support the national and international search for a cure, enhance our nurse-counseling program and bring world-class speakers to our men’s support groups. Monthly planned giving and legacy gifts are the best ways to ensure the sustainability of our programs and services.
Another way to get involved is to volunteer at one of the many events we put on or partner with each year – including Father’s Day Walk/Run, Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live and UrbaCity Challenge! In this way you’ll be actively helping us spread prostate health awareness and raise funds that will go directly to Island Prostate Centre’s programs and services. Of course, you can also help by becoming an advocate for prostate health and sharing what you learn on this website with your family and friends!
Through Men’s Health Day events, we bring prostate cancer information and detection services to a diversity of Island communities.
Together, we can provide men and their families with the information and help they need. Want more information on our support services and fundraising efforts? Get in touch today!
What does a dollar do?
- $50 – provides nurse counseling for one man
- $30 – supplies food for a Support Group meeting
- $60 – buys two new resource books for our library
- $100 – provides Nurse Counseling for two men
$100+ helps us to reach the community and increase awareness through events like Men’s Health Day, support local research for a cure, and bring in expert speakers for our monthly PSA meetings.

The UrbaCity Challenge is Victoria’s own urban adventure race.
On Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, we are asking racers to put their body and brain to the ultimate test with non-stop problem-solving, teamwork, and energy. Local businesses and hot spots provide the backdrop for amazing displays of strategy and cunning at unique – and devious – challenge stations. Last year’s event raised an incredible $62,000 in support of Island Prostate Centre
Visit urbacitychallenge.ca for complete event information.
Thank you to our generous sponsors.
